Course Description:

This Digital Media course is Full Year.  This is not the 12 week exploratory course.  Students will explore and perform filming and editing techniques that are above intro level.  This course is built for students going into their respective high schools digital media programs.  Basic and Advanced editing will be standard and expected in order to pass this course.  Video animation, design, creation, deployment and marketing is the core of this course.

Course Goal & Expectations: 

  • Demonstrate Pre-Planning and Organizational skills in web and editing projects.
  • Demonstrate Professional Online Behavior.
  • Build, Update, Deploy a website using WordPress, Wix or Weebly.
  • Understand dynamic versus static web pages.
  • Introduce beginning and advanced editing skills using WeVideo, CapCut and Final Cut Pro.
  • Understand Cloud Computing & Cloud Storage.
  • Understand Copyright & Legal issues involved in web activity use.
  • Understand how to manipulate multiple digital files (image and video).
  • Demonstrate proper use in Transition, Titles and Effects in all Digital Media Projects.
  • Individual and Group Projects are performed weekly.
  • THIS CLASS WILL PREPARE YOU FOR MORE ADVANCED EDITING AND DESIGN AND 

Grading:

  • Grades are Project based.  
  • All Work Can Be Turned in Late up until the grading end of the grading period.
  • There will be at least (3) Pop Quizzes in a 12 week period.

Homework:

  • There is No Homework, All work is to be done in class with me.  

TEXTBOOKS/MATERIALS:

  • None
  • We use only Free and approved PUSD software

Classroom Rules:

  • BE ON TIME
  • NO PHONES unless I need you to film.
  • I expect you to become INDEPENDENT. 
  • Take care of the equipment, Do No Vandalize.
  • Do not modify any computer’s BIOs.
  • NO FOOD, NO GUM
